Spanish and Money

March 8th, 2007 at 21:45

By the way, currently the Idaho Women’s Commission law guide is available in English and Spanish. No more, if S. 1172 (which has passed the Idaho Senate and is now on to the House) becomes law. This bill, which according to its sponsor is “not for shutting people out,” would require every state agency “that has funds appropriated or designated for the printing or translation of materials or the provision of services or information in a language other than English” to “return those moneys to the state controller.” In other words, if you’re not yet good at reading English, the Government of Idaho may soon not be terribly interested in communicating with you.
